Hi, my singer 514 dos are not moving?

if you look at the machine from the top towards right side of top shaft there is a nylon gear and another thats at bottom of this gear with shaft going down vertically towards bottom shaft also with gear attached.see if there is movement on bottom gear if handwheel is turned.this gear at top off vertical shaft is the one ken says normally brake.if you mechanical minded you can drill hole at back of machine to loosen screw on gear and then replace but you will have to set feed timing again.good luck

I have removed the top but do not know what to look for? can you help please.

You will probably find the top nylon drive gear is broken, very common, take the top off and have a look
