Mend Flavel Milano 100 Cooker Gas Rings Ignition

flavel milano 100?

i have a Milano range, when you attempt to light the gas rings, with a couple of them, you have to press and hold in the button far too long and infact several wont light at all now..... I know its a safety thing with the hob but they just wont light at all.....any ideas please

remove the gas burner tops and clean them making sure they connect well to the hob top.clean hob top where gas burn rings sit as well.make sure that the spark generator has a good arc to the gas burner.always get the spark clicking then turn the gas on and up very slowly
