Hi, I had this recently. First checked wiper arm lock nut but was tight.
Open the bonnet and remove water deflector grill which sits next to windscreen, pull off thick rubber strip and it will unclip. wiper linkage is exposed. The passenger side linkage arm on mine had come away from the motor end. It is one spindle with the drivers side arm sitting on top and the passenger side at the bottom of the spindle. They are only plastic and push-fit on to spindle end. Being underneath I guess the water had got in and the joint had worn until the arm fell away. Take off other end of arm which sits on top of passenger side linkage which in my case was still good condition and swap ends so the good end fits on to underside of drive spindle and the dodgy end sits on top of passenger side. gravity will keep worn end in place but you can put cable ties round both ends to help !
Make sure you fill both joints with grease
