Hi Graham the diverter valve is situated in the heater assembly if we are thinking of the same model (give me model no engraved on top edge of stainless steel door if this does not make sense) Be aware that when you open the door you will only see one arm moving at any one time but they should alternate about every minute or so. The model I am thinking of not a diy project to get to heater assy ( need to remove stainless steel carcass completely leaving just plastic base on floor) if you remove lower wash arm and its support you can look down and see the rotating disc of the diverter may be a piece of glass stuck in it if you are lucky . Cheers

Thanks for your help. I have accessed the hose by removing the front bottom panel of the machine and it is spotless. I have tried it again and the bottom spray is rotating but the top one is'nt. If this is the diverter arm, where is it and how do I access it?

Could be low water level due to a blockage in the pressure chamber bottom left hand side of machine and clear hose from it to the sump, or diverter valve faulty. ( diverter valve changes water flow from bottom arm to top arm repeatedly if jammed half way will give little water to either arm) most likely blockage though. Cheers
