Mend Scantronic 9800 Bell Box Power

Hi there,

I have a scantronic 9800 alarm. I seem to be having trouble with my bell box I have had to take down my flashguard/100 bell box due to power failures in our area I seem to be having trouble wiring this back up I noticed the battery had died So I replaced it and the bell box sounded I wired it back up as it was bu it dosent seem to be working even when the lid is put on is there anyway to fix this? Ive recently just replaced the back bell box for a new flashguard xl, but I dont have the money to buy another bell box at the moment?

your panel monitors the power to and from the bell box,if it loses it the bell box will sound (the sab takes over )

sounds to me the fault is the standby battery inside the end station,your panel runs off mains power and if you get a power cut the internal battery takes over,if the battery is duff then the bell box goes off and will sound untill the mains comes back on line
replace the 7 amp battery inside the end station,
turn power off before opening the end station

It was going off at all times of the day due to the people sorting one of the power grids near our home and yes ive 100% wired it correctly

why did you take the bell box down?all you had to do was remove the battery lead and the positive feed to the box two wires

are you getting power to the bell box?have you checked it with a test meter ?be very careful you don't blow 9800 very good unit but obsolete ,we have fitted over 1000 of them over the years recheck all your connections
