hotpoint dryer fault lights?

my hotpoint ctd40g condenser dryer showing time delay, high heat and alarm light flashing I think this might be a problem with the pump as the lower water reservoir is filling but not pumpinig into top one , so the dryer works for a while until the lower one fills then stops how do I know if its the pump or the switch for the pump
