How do i remove the cistern lid on my SEREL cistern?

How do i remove the cistern lid on my SEREL cistern, it's a close coupled suite. I need to get to the float valve.

if it has push buttons on top slide a thin piece of card either side to release buttons then the top

if its a push button flush one, push the button and hold it down, now turn the big silver ring that the buttons go down into. anti clock wise, that will unscrew and the lid will lift off.
