Mend Frigidaire Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat

how can i fix my frigidaire refrigerator?

Replaced the defrost thermostat in freezer. Its still not coming up temp. The main coil dose have a big block of ice on it i have to take a hair dryer to the coil to thaw it out and then it freezes rigjt back up how can I check the temp. Control thermostat?
