had one like this,if you look on the radiator cowl there is a sensor linked to the egr valve and would check the connections and wiring to there,that is not to say that is your fault and maybe a code reader would help you out also.Another thing to check are your filters and the fuel filter maybe worth removing and drain it and check for water,any doubt replace with a genuine Ford filter,good luck.
