neutral safety switch?

Let me try - - -

The vehicle does not start - the engine does not turn over - there is no "click" sound from the starter motor relay. Several of the electrical services work such as the radio and the turning indicators - the dashboard lights up.

I am not clear in my mind if this is a car or a van - nevertheless I know nothing of either but if asked to guess I would suspect the starter relay or connections to it - no click!
