if you are removing the top scuttle panel then yes the wiper arms will need to come off,there should be a drain at each side,look just behind the g/box,they sometimes get blocked with leaves/debris,would be worth checking there first,if you do take off top panel make sure no grommets are misplaced,leaks are sometimes bad to source out.
