How can I fix clicking DVD tray is making?

Why is my DVD tray making a clicking noise when opening or closing? Sometimes won't open at all and no other function will now work on the hometheater system. It's a Sherwood VR-652 home theater system, I have already looked in manual and their site to no avail. I have only used it a couple of times . I mainly use it for the front aux. to listen to music. I hear a motor when I unplug it and turn it back on.
