Mend Potterton EP2002 Heating Controller

EP2002 programmer?

Hi, I recently replaced my old potterton controller for a new EP2002. I have recently noticed that when I just set the hot water to come on the radiators are getting warm and the water pump is running. Should I move the switch located on the rear of the EP2002 to a vertical position as before it was horizontal ? Many thanks...

Potterton Potterton EP2002 Heating, Home Heating Systems Potterton Heating Controller

Just as a further bit of info there is a potterton motorized Valve fitted with 2 lights on it one for hot water and the other for Central heating. When I switch the hot water on on the EP2002 the Hotwater light is lit and is bright. The central heating light is also on but not as bright but it does become brighter if I move the lever from Auto to manual. The pump is still running as well ...
