Mend Jaguar XJ6 X300 Button Intermittent Problem

fix on off volume buttom, XJ6 X300 Jaguar?

Hi I have a 1995 jaguar XJ6 X300,
unfortunately the on off button which also controls the volume, has a intermittent problem, sometimes it wont switch off or higher or lower the volume, do you have any idea what i can do to fix the problem myself

Slider and rotating knob controls sometimes get dust and dirt in them and they become erratic.

From the description you give I'm not sure what the problem might be but if were my car I would try a squirt of switch cleaner as a first step.

Amazon sell it - shops like Maplins too. About £5
