Mend Homelite Stops Starts Fine Long

Homelite trimmer stops when turned upside down?

My homelite trimmer starts and works fine, as long as I keep it upright. When I turn it on its side to be edging along my beds, it stops within 5 seconds. It starts back up after I prime and chock it, and then stops again when I turn it on its side.
