how to unlock one french door with out a key?

i've moved in to a new home, & the french doors, that lead into the garden have two different barrels, & the key for the left door is missing, i've bought two new locks for them both, & have managed to change the right one but don't know how to get the left one unlocked & out, to replace it.....
any ideas?
