My Mira 415 shower goes hot and cold when in use ?

When in use the water goes hot and cold intermittently ,have stripped the shower body down and checked the cassette but this is a sealed item .Checked cassette but can't seem to get the top piece of plastic from the shaft as the cassette is 15 years old I don't know if the new cassettes will fit my mira 415 .Any suggestions ???
