I have just removed my original KA stereo after reading the advice above. I firstly tried two bits of coat hanger but I realised after about ten minutes that they were too soft and bent too easily, so, I decided to try two allen keys with the longer part of the key's in each of the two bottom holes and it came out almost immediately. Two allen keys are definitely the way to go if you don't want to pay stupid money for somewhere like Halfords to do it or waste cash on the "correct" tool. It is pretty easy really.

you buy ford radio pins put them in the 4 holes force outwards slightly and pull its very easy to do .then remove the top off the stereo.

I removed my standard KA stereo with a nice CD player without any special keys. What you need is two long thin pieces of wire or metal. I used two small screwdrivers. Your stereo will have four holes in it, two near the top and two near the bottom. Forget the top ones, push the screwdrivers or pieces of coat hanger or whatever into the bottom holes. It will take a while but you shouild feel the little clip on each side of the stereo. Squeeze the clips towards each other and kinda pull towards you. It took me a few goes, but I managed and it only took like 10 minutes.

Hope this helps

well im trying to get the stereo out of my Ka at the moment as well to replace it with a CD -player and it is a very tricky thing to do, you have to buy removing keys from halfords etc and use them to pull the stereo out- this is the theory anyway but it is basically impossible, it costs £35 for halfords to do it!!!
