Some dryers have safety cut-outs if overheating occurs. The over-heat sensor will activate and disable the heating elements but will not affect the tumble/motor operation. Many of these cut-outs can be reset by operation of a switch, usually situated on the rear of the dryer. If you cannot find this switch you need to check continuity of the element or call that qualified electrician to do it for you!
