renault scenic not starting?

Ive had numerous problems with this car but the electronic fault recently has been the most worrying.I accidently spilled i little bit of water on the card and immediately after that it failed to start.It was not alot of water just a few drops which i cleaned off.I inserted the card and it swings but does not want to start.After getting it checked it read 66 faults under a diagnostic machine. The mechanic said its the card reader that needs to be replaced which will set me back a good couple of grand. PLLLEEEAAASE can somebody advise me,anything to fix this problem..

So, you're one of the unfortunate people who bought a Renault. As you have found out to your cost, their electrics aren't very reliable. Read 66 faults on code reader eh, must be an all time record, two grand to fix, bet you wish you had walked past it. My advice is, take it to a scrap yard and get some money for it. put that with the two grand it would cost to fix it and get yourelf a more reliable car, but not a French one. There are plenty of cars for sale out there for a couple of grand.
