How can I rewire a programmable coffeemaker?

I have a Grind-N-Brew coffeemaker on which the programming panel went dead, including the button that powers the coffeemaker on. To keep it from becoming landfill material, I'd like to wire it to bypass the grinder and simply have the brew process start when the coffeemaker is plugged in. Then I can put a rocker switch on the outlet and control the on/off there. Anyone familiar with this type of machine?
