how to fix hotpoint tumble dryer model tc71p condensercycle?

First thing to replace is the capacitor (white plastic cylinder with 2 electrical connections next to the motor under the right hand side panel), this has gone on mine twice now.
If you can hear a humming over the sound of the timer, the motor should be ok, as the humming is the motor trying to turn, but it cannot as the capacitor provides the current boost needed to spin up the drum.
You can check if it is that (at your own risk!!) by removing the right hand side panel, then turning on a cycle and gently push the drum around(with an insulated object), if the motor is ok it will start to run as normal when you push in the correct direction.
The new capacitor is just 2 push fit connections and a 13mm nut
