Can I reset citroen picasso automatic gear box to factory setting myself?

My picasso xsara 2007 makes problems changing the automatic gears, The garage said it needs resetting to factory setting..can I do it myself?

This may work. Remove any carpets from under pedals. Hold full throttle and switch on ignition, count 10 seconds, lift off throttle count 10 deconds, start engine. This should set throttle position
