when i open the hot tap on my wash basin water dribbles out of the shower head on my aqualisa 900 valve

It would normally need a new cartridge, but the 900 is now obsolete, try www.showerspares.com but I think you are looking at a new shower valve, the best replacement is the Mira 415 Combiforce
