hotpoint tdc32s timer wiring?

I have the above, now 10 years old. When I try to turn the timer switch it just went round and round so my hubby took out the timer (invensys its called) and now we cant wire it back in. Checked loads of sites online and cannot find anywhere to help, even hotpoint states if we buy a replacement they do not include a wiring diagram! So help please!
