e manno,its not a prob,you can walk into gardiner security and be a plumber and they will sell you any panel you want,they dont ask if u in trade,they did it for a client of ours who we gave qoute or cctv,the client went in and they sold him every thing,then they got some one else to fit the kit,so,you have no need to say sorry or reproach yourself

Just didn't want you guys thinking I handed out engineering manuals like candy,that's all.

As I say I have sent the odd page diagram etc but never ever any book in it's entirety,

If you are in the trade you can get all engineering books anyway, but you still get the odd one that claims he is in the trade and asks for a certain engineering book.

Rubbish he not in trade and he wants a free book, no way pal i'am not that stupid and irresponsible,he Still not get one from me.

I was only commenting on what should be the norm for us. I was on that site and watched them give out manuals. Hence my request for all my contributions to be removed.
I am not offended, just pointing out the errors of doing such things.
You cannot even join Gas engineer site now without your gas safe credentials. For good reason.
Engineer manuals are almost as dangerous when someone does not understand them, makes a change and then blames the maintenance company when it does not operate as intended. The programming intellectual rights belong to the installing company. If a maintenance is ended then the panel should be defaulted IMHO.

The mention was not directed at you as such E Manno, more of a comment about that other site. No offence intended.

I understand your concern and yes,this info should only be passed from one engineer to another,after all it's this info that safeguards our jobs and pays our bills too.

I was only trying to help by offering a solution by the way of a programming guide not the full version of the book,

Sorry if I have offended...I do respect your opinions and I will reserve my approach in future and thanks for pulling me up about it,

I agree with you totally on this Alarm,engineering manuals are only available to the trade on there and he wouldn't or shouldn't get one.

What he would get no probs is the user or a quick set up programming guide.I've never sent out engineering documents,only relevant none sensitive info from the book.

Last time I sent info and diagram on there, it had to go via administrator first then it was sent onto Fred/xxxxxx,not been there for a while though.

What I should of said was he would get a quick programme/setup guide and not the book

Ahh good old UK Panels, giving out engineers manuals to JP.
You might as well get money out of your wallet and chuck it.
Nothing wrong giving out a user manual and some advise, but engineering manuals?
