What really winds me up is they think we are little toe rags. They never question a plumber (H2O Engineer as my m8 says), or a car mechanic, when they say ooooooooooooo £590 sir/madam.
Yet when we say its a £90 call out they go all poopy.
Well people, its knowledge and experience your paying for. It might look like pressing buttons to you, but we fit and make sure these systems work as intended and work for you.

Yet you treat us like plebs.
I think it is time we stopped assisting unless it is on trade sites, engineer to engineer.
But I bet the local Muppet with a manual from fleabay will still put his oar in.

if people who come on this site had to pay for our advice, they would treat us with far more respect ,if i had my way i would charge 50p for fixing alarm,£5.for some one who not say thank you,or please, then we would get rid of the ignorant dross who comes on here ,am fed up to the back teeth prostituting my tallents for ignorant sods, phew!am glad i got that out :-)

TBH we are taking money from our own pockets here. We assist and not even a thank you.
We even " mind read" and guess the lack of info.
AND get it right.

I think your right. time to knock it on the head, leave the (Not the good gents I know on here) Idiots to give out wrong advise and kill someone when they do not mention electrickery.

And as you say they dont use search, post on several sites and try and compare our answers. With a few of us there is a combined 200+ years of experience on here. And they still question us.

Sod them.

This could be my last post here, getting more & more fed up with the ignorant people who ask 'non questions' and worse of all do not have the courtesy to acknowledge a reply, not only to me but others as well.

I've said this before I know, oh ... it.

I've had enough of this - Gone.

By the way, you don't need to change the code back to 1234, just change the existing code XXXX to a new one YYYY.

If at a later date you wish to change the code again you change YYYY to FFFF or even TMWL, get the idea?

If you not know the master user code or engineering code, then they can be defaulted separately from the system.

You are not following the default method correctly,

Read the book and understand it or get someone in who does.We will not give out the correct default method on this open forum for security reasons.

Don't bother asking for further assistance regarding this method,

Good luck.

You need the current code to be able to change it, otherwise the control panel will need to be defaulted and fully reprogrammed.

I need to return it to accept 1234,only then I can set it up for the code I have in mind.Pressing *and # together doesn't reset the code for my alarm. Is there another way without having to reprogrammed it?

- Only if that is still programmed as a master code, it would normally be changed at install time to (the one you can't remember?)
Who leaves 1234 as a usable code in an alarm panel? More than you think!

Reprogramming your code:

. Enter master user code 1234
. Press 8 1
. Enter your new code ????

The keypad should beep twice to indicate the new code has been accepted.
