i have a vectra sri est it as smoke coming from the engine dose not look like its coming from the exhaust changed the glow plugs and filters and oil but still comes.It smells like a bbq and the engines runing well some time users alot of diesal
it could be an oil leak onto the exhaust, could be the turbo, could be a nackered engine with back pressure.oil filler cap loose,back pressure hose from engine to air intake system off or blocked.i think best find a learned friend/ mechanic how could diagnose it by just looking or trying a few things.if its high milage the answer could be at the beginning.
