why won't my lid lock after being replaced? fisher paykel gwl11?

the 1st light on the left is on and the 7th from the left when it gives up and beeps every second.

Yes I have seen it many times too. They think they are saving money by doing it themselves which is fine if they know what to do and have the test equipment to do it. Ask on here and I will gladly tell them how to test the part and what result they should get. Quite often they don't and just assume the part is faulty.

i agree mate i have been in the trade 40 years next month and i have come across this so many times people do not listen to the experts because they have a friend who knows better

Why oh why do people replace parts just because someone tells them to or because they think it will fix the problem? Have you not heard of testing a part to see if it is faulty? By the time you take in to account the cost of parts bought for no reason it would be cheaper to get someone out to fix it. To find the problem we will start first with the error code flashing when it beeps. Your description is not clear. You say the first and last light on the left flash. Well the first on the left is also the last on the left. Count from left to right and tell me exactly which lights are on and which are off along the top row of 8 lights.
