how can i fix my vax rapide carpet cleaner?

I have only used my carpet cleaner twice but last time I tried to use it all the cleaning solution and water came out in one go soaking my carpet. Luckily it sucked all the water back up again but we cant find the receipt and vax wont repair it without proof of purchase.
