Mend Kenwood KDW12SL3A Dishwasher Replacement Switch

How do I remove the start button from my Kenwood KDW12SL3A?

I have removed the front of the machine to access the switch. The replacement part has upside down triangles which seem to be how it locks in place.
I am unable to remove the old switch, do I turn the thing or pull it hard to get it out ?
