Replacing the control backup battery should restore order,

Replace that first, then if the problem still persists check the tamper circuits.Hope you have had it serviced regulary in the last 12 years?,

Don't be tempted to open the panel without isolating mains power first. Now i'am expecting the system to go into full alarm when you remove mains power. Pop your code in,it may silence the bells it may not, take down the battery details, close the panel, restore mains power, pop your code in then press reset.

Remember power off first when you go in to replace the battery,
