Mend Samsung ER-4940 Closed Work Problem

Samsung er 4940 status "closed"?

For the life of me I can't get it to work. I had a power outage and when I got it back on theres a problem with my register. When I'm in Reg mode it says closed, I have been reading around and it should be simple as hitting a clerk letter because no one is assign on. The letters are ABDE Ive tried hitting each and everyone of them and still not good. Ive tried hitting "1 then A" "1 then B" etc and it doesnt work. Ive tried setting the date as someone requested to do and nothing. Ive tried reprogramming the clerk secret code so i can log inand it doesnt work. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

When was the battery last replaced? You may have corrupted programming after the power cut due to a bad battery. Also, has the machine been set to clerk push button login or clerk secret code? This is part of the system programming and should have been set by the dealer and demonstrated to you. There are ways to read programming so that may be the next step. You can read the keyboard layout if necessary and see where your clerk buttons really are.
