Mend Sharp ER2386S Replacement Replace Side

battery replacement?

need to replace battery in sharp cash register er2386s. can not get cover off to get to back up battery. cover screw on side and one under journal cover will only release back not front - having trouble releasing front to remove. any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are 5 screws. One in the side, one near the back, and three near the front of the printer. Once they are out, slide the top section slightly forward to release the clips at the front. If you are not sure which screws to remove, a good way to tell is remove the insert and drawer tray, then look inside the drawer and you will see where the screws come through from the top.
