how to fix hotpoint aquarius TDC32S?

I have a hotpoint aquarius TDC32s condenser dryer..approx 5 yrs old. The timer dial has been forced the wrong way and has now come off completely. The plastic spindle on the back of dial is mangled and broken.. searched numerous Websites for part and have now been informed the part is obselete! I can still use dryer with a pair of pliers but this isn't ideal...any ideas of where I can get the part??
