Hi, hopefully someone can shed some light to this problem... My wife entered alarm before leaving property but did not get out in time, alarm went off for couple seconds before entering code, reset the alarm but whatever reason the panel now is showing '_ _' with no faults and the alarm cannot be reset/code entered. I have tried entering master reset also to no avail. Any ideas..?
I've checked the battery 13.5Vdc so this appears to be fine..? however, there was no alarm when I removed the lid (tamper alarm) or disconnected the battery leads..? I am now going to reconnect the battery (4 years old) and see what happens... I'll keep you updated...

Sounds like he is defo in engineering on the access code change,probably panicked a little when alarm sounded and punched in a few randoms.
Still could be the battery?

Sounds like you have been "PLAYING" and stuck in engineering, type in 01 and then enter/tick and see what happens.
Also the battery is in the BIG CONTROL BOX not the keypad.
The alarm is a 9800+

Acorn... do you mean the battery in the keypad panel..? I'm assuming it is just a pencil type battery..? do you know what type it would be before I attempt the change..? Thanks in advance. D

Ever replaced the panel battery? Should be replaced at 5yrs, if not before. Strange things happen with suspect batts.
They may be rechargeable but they don't last for ever.

sorry.... tried all the usual tricks... I've read the manual, tried inputting all the master codes, etc but just beeping on every key button depressed....???
