One plate of my digital CHI straightner won't heat up!?

I turned on my CHI straightner this morning and after it heated up I began to straighten my hair, however it was not affecting my hair at all. I touched one of the plates to see if it heated up, and the plate was cold. I touched the other plate and it was hot though. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? I spent $130 on it, go it 2 years ago, and now my mom won't buy me another because they are too expensive(which I agree with), but I can't wear my hair natural it looks horrible! Help!
