Mend Sony HXD870 Dvd Recorder Recording

How do I repair my Sony DVD recorder HXD870?

My DVD recorder became unplugged while it was recording. Now it does not work, ie the remote control has no effect. It will not even operate as a freeview box. Nothing happens.
