how can i fix a noisy toilet when refilling?

If the water flowing into the cistern is very noisy, fit a flexible tube to the water inlet so that it lowers the level at which the water flows into the cistern. When the flush has been operated, and fresh water begins to flow in, the level of water quickly rises in the emptied cistern to above the end of the tube so the the water coming in now flows out silently beneath the level of rising water.
