nissan elgrand tv/dvd/sat nav?

Does anyone know where I can get a DVD player fitted in an Elgrand E52 or better still get the original one working ?

I have just brought a 2008 elgrand and the dvd front and back work with English dvd just read further up the post that it can’t be done, it can it’s just a ball ache

hi there i just got a nissan elgrand e51 2007
when i turn the car on i don't get nissan logo on screen and the reverse cam some time shows some time not and the root screen does not flip down and please can any one tell me how mutch it cost for new system thankyou in advance

On this E51 Elgrand we install the latest Double Din Pioneer navigation system, it had many features including DAB (digital radio), Bluetooth, A2DP streaming, navigation with real-time traffic, USB, DVD, Apple CarPlay and Auto Android.

The Elgrand (which is an import) normally has three versions and two generations (Gen 1 2002-2004 Gen 2 2004 – 2007). Your original specification would be either no Nav or Nav, and / or Amplifier (BOSE). We can install any unit into ANY generation and ANY specification.

The Pioneer unit on this car was fully integrated with the cars reversing camera, steering wheel controls (including the phone buttons!), and Bose amplifier. All functions worked as intended, original panelling makes the new unit look perfect in the Elgrand dashboard.

Nissan Elgrand E51 UK replacement radio

The Nissan Elgrand makes a fantastic affordable camper conversion however the Japanese factory radio system has been a real problem to bypass. Auto Tec has the answer....

We have replaced a number of radio systems in Nissan Elgrande especially the E51 between 2002 - 2003 model and the 2004-2007 model. Being an imported vehicle all of the radio operation and buttons are in Japanese so the system that comes with these is typically useless.

We are able to remove the existing radio system that is integrated to the dashboard, keeping the factory display for the heating controls, service information, reverse camera and convert the dashboard to house a double din radio system with various options like sat nav, bluetooth and iPod control etc, things we all love and use in our daily vehicles but things that Elgrand owners could only dream of.

We replace the facia that holds the radio buttons, interface with the factory FM aerial and interface into the radio wiring allowing the new system to pick up the full UK FM frequency, play music through the car speakers and operate a unit in English.........what more could you ask for?

My Sat Nav DVD player can play DVD but specific region with NTSC output. But I have only one disc in hand.

To your question i own a 2003 nissan elgrand e51 and the sat nav unit in the lower part of the centre console acts as a dvd player but will only play region 1 ntsc dvds so seeing as im in australia i just re copy my dvds into ntsc format and bingo.... as for sat nav no go.... but im in the middle of seeking info about the translation to english....

Can you provide some more details as I have the same problem as you mentioned. If you say you fit systems in Elgrands. Is it new ones or do you change some parts to make existing work. Really want the benefit of the sat nav and the dvd.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Due to a number of people asking about the various in-car audio/visual options and what is what on Elgrand's I though I would take a few words to try and help clear the fog on this one.

Firstly the SatNav system fitted, factory fitted or not, CAN NOT work in the UK or Europe, if anyone says otherwise they are being 'economical' with the truth. There are no DVD/CD maps available to work on these systems so if someone says '...you just need to buy the discs and it works...' the discs are like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, they don't exist.

You will see various ads. saying the Elgrand comes fitted with '....factory DVD system...' or '...factory TV's installed..' etc. well the factory combined SatNav system with the 2 screens fitted, one in the dash and the other in the roof, while it carries the DVD logo on it this is only for the navigation discs (which do not exist for the UK) IT WILL NOT PLAY A DVD MOVIE of any type and as for TV's there is no receiver fitted so that is also not possible either.

You can get a picture to the factory fitted screens by plugging a device into the AUX sockets that are fitted in the rear of the Elgrand but if you are looking to play DVD's the player that you plug in will need to output in NTSC, not PAL, otherwise the picture will just keep rolling as the screens are designed for an NTSC signal.

The factory fitted screen in the dash will not show a AUX in image i.e. a DVD once the gear selector moves from Park/ the foot brake is off.

In summary the factory fitted 2 screen system is of no use unless you have add a DVD player either by connecting to the existing system, that outputs in NTSC, or plugged in to AUX in the rear.

If someone is claiming the system they have in their Elgrand plays UK DVD's then bring one along and try it first to make sure.

I fit new UK DVD systems into Elgrands for the reasons I have mentioned above, obviously if the original ones worked there would be no need to do so.

I hope this has helped in clearing up some confusion on the in-car entertainment in the Elgrands, there a great vehicle just be sure you know what you are getting when are looking.

nissan elgrand tv/dvd/sat nav?

Just bought a Japanese import Nissan elgrand in UK and want to know if anybody knows how to get tv/dvd/sat nav to work here? Where can I buy anything necessary and also while I'm here anybody know where to get English manuals from? Any help greatly appreciated.
