jaguar x type diesel 05 98k hard to start when hot, always ok first start, but only have to nip to shops try to re start is a bit of a problem, it turns over ok but have to hold key in fire position until the car fires up, it coughs and splutters until it does...really embarrassing. never sure whether to pump the throttle or leave tried both makes no difference, the battery has plenty of life so car will keep turning over until it fires up but sometimes can take a while..please help anyone
X-Types need a 'motor calibration' update on the ECU, its a known fault, though many dealers will try to sell you a turbo, injectors, a new starter motor, fuel filters etc.
Just ask for the ECU update!

Guess it gets flooded if it is driven a short distance , and turned off , and then restarted , many cars can not take that sadly , without failing to start , or become hard to start.
