how can i fix my hair straighteners ghd's medium?

the other night my ghd's medium hair straighteners were sitting on my wardrobe and they fell off. not one of the plates has come loose. is there anything i can do to fix them? i don't want to buy a new pair as they were a present from my mom

i think a wire has come loose inside the connection ? when i plug them in their not working , even after changing the fuse on the plug .

I just stood on my friends hair straightners and cracked them down the middle . They would still work but I need to fix them asap!
