Radio controlled clock will not reset after battery change?

My radio controlled clock needed a new battery. When I changed the battery the clock moved forward 4 hours and then stopped. Every time I have reinserted the battery it just moves the hands forward by 4 hours then stops again! I have left it overnight in the hope that it will reset to the correct time but it hasn't moved. Any suggestions?
