samsung sch-r720acts like its charging when its not on chrger?

my samsung acts like its charging when its not on the charger, it makes the beep noise like when you plug up the charger and continues to beep also it will show batt icon with green movement as if it were plugged up ,but its not ,and it will read "charging 78%" like it does when charging. it only does this sometimes what could it be
