a was hoping you didn't say the final spin because its a fault with the motor.
you won't see any visible sighns untill you strip it down.
the motor assembly has wound coils,if one of these coils fails the current passed via stator will go to earth resulting in the hall sensor sending a signel to the pcb.
the machine aborts,and shuts down.
Is the machine still under warranty?
if it is, don't attempt a repair because you will void the warranty,
if it isn't then you are looking at a replacement Manufactured by LG

and yes you have guessed it ,its expensive,.
Is it dangerous to use.....
well the lg`s pcb configuration can cope with that form of intermittent fault,so no its not a danger to you but I wouldn't leave it unatended.
