My machine had fault H20, kept filling with water and flooded kitchen. Took your advice of checking the pressure switch tube in the top of the machine. This didn't solve the problem of machine filling with water so took the plastic panel off the back of the machine and undid the hoseclip holding the other end of the tube. There was a bit of muck in there and some water drained out and have successfully done two loads of washing with no problems now.

Excellent website, saved me a lot of money by doing it myself

It actually worked! we've been without a washing machine for weeks and was almost majorly ripped off by a plumber advising that it was "definitely an electrical fault".

The only thing I will mention is that it took me about 15 mins to figure out how to take the lid off: I followed your advice, but it didn't mention you actually have to 'lift' as you push the lid back to the rear of the machine after removing the two screws at the back. However, I'm pretty sure that was just me being silly!

Anyway, thank you very much!

I had the fault H2O. My machine just kept filling with water and would not stop. I followed Iain's advice which was "remove the top by undoing the two screws at the back of the machine and sliding the top towards the rear of the machine. Standing at the back of the machine, on the right just below the top, I saw that a pipe had come off what looks like a pressure switch. I replaced the pipe and this has fixed the fault. I had to switch the power off at the socket to remove the fault from the display".

This was a two minute job, the pipe is just a small one.

My machine now works perfectly. Many thanks Iain.

Fantastic web site. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.

I had the fault H2O. My machine just kept filling with water and would not stop, flooding my kitchen.I nearly called out a Hotpoint engineer which would have cost nearly ÂŁ90 ! Instead I decided to have a look myself. I removed the top by undoing the two screws at the back of the machine and sliding the top towards the rear of the machine. Standing at the back of the machine, on the right just below the top, I saw that a pipe had come off what looks like a pressure switch. I replaced the pipe and this has fixed the fault. I had to switch the power off at the socket to remove the fault from the display, but you should do that before removing the top anyway.
I really hope that this helps and stops you having to fork out for an engineer.

h20 ..normally means there is no water coming in... it will not finish the cycle because there is not enough water in the machine for it to continue hence why you have to turn it to drain to empty it... check taps and pressure chamber for a blockage
