How to fix a Metamec Bakelite electric wall clock?

I have a 50's/60's wall clock that i have had for years. it used to work but after a long spell in the garage it doesn't. When power is applied there is absolutely no sound or movement. Suspect coil is the problem. If so, what can be done? The movement looks in good nick and fairly clean but the whole unit has probably had to suffer from some condensation though.
