how can i fix my gardtec 300?

No gts, it's you that's full of yourself I'm afraid. Not everyones an alarm engineer, so they won't think of putting the info you want down on the first attempt, all they can do is cry help. So what if someone doesn't give the info you need first time round, just ask them to clarify things for you. I expect your mechanic thinks your a prat when you try and decribe a fault with your car, but he paitiently ask quetions till he gets to the root of the problem. And please Alan, don't give up on the site, it's nice to see some decent help rather than just self grandissment.

Damaged cable?
Loose connection?
External siren fault?
Duff batery?...
There so many things that can cause a tamper fault.Check the fuse on the panels pcb.ONLY if you feel confident working on a ///LIVE/// panel...The pcbs are not all that on this model..they like to blow fuses...

Hit a nerve have I? Last time I looked site was called how to mend it, not how to criticise equipment/tell people to rip stuff out. I repair many makes of panels etc much of which I wouldn't choose to fit myself including gardtec, scantronic, veritas, Honeywell etc seldom ripping them out. I'm in a service industry and that's what I offer!

As for having a laugh I don't see many of the questioners being amused. For heavens sake lighten up! (your words from previous post, not mine)

Often wondered why I bothered looking at this site, will not in future, keep up the good work!

we tried these panels out years ago,and found them lacking,as well as the pirs,we fitted a diamond 1000,it lasted one day,we got a new pcb for it,it did not fit the panel,they had modified it,so dont try tell me gardtec panels are great ,we bench test all new panels that come on market for two months,we choose our panels very carefully,and our bell boxes,pirs,and vibe detectors,as well as door contacts,and our cable,and batteries,that is why we are still in business after 40 years,so,you go right on fixing gardtec junk,or should i say replacing it,we get more questions on here about veritas panels,dont believe me ?check out the search box ,and one more thing,we like to have a laugh on this site,but when you get some saying my alarm not working,but give no detail,no make of alarm,or whats wrong,what would you say to them ?

come on gts, been in the trade for nearly 40 years and best you can say is 'could be'?

Just for info, never yet known tamper light on gardtec 300 panels to be any indication of battery condition. Would agree it is probably a tamper circuit fault though!
