Whats the problem with my creda reversair sensadry tumble drier?

hi seems as if the two thermostats have gone you can pick these up at your local electric shop.

Hello Brian, Thanks very much for all your help and information. I will have to take a look at my local dealers for the "cut out kit" too. My model is 37751 so it maybe a different kit. I will have a go at this and let you know if its solved our problem. Many thanks again.

Hi Mark,an update to yesterday's reply...
I have just got a "Cut outs kit" from my local dealer in Clevedon, the part number for my model 37752 was 1741124 and it cost £14-99. Installation was straightforward but remember that the two cut-outs are different. One is auto resetting and the other is 'one-shot'. You have to replace both. The orientation of the pins is different for each type. Make sure that you fit the correct ones in the correct places - make a note or better still take a digital photo. I have just run the dryer OK and it is heating up.
We were given this machine by our son who had already decided to get a new one - with two children in the family he didn't have time to investigate and the dryer was probably 98 vintage - looking at the date code on the old cut-outs.
Anyway we can now look forward to some higher electricity bills!

Hi, I've just been given a Creda Reversair with the same fault.
Both thermostat/thermal cutouts have gone open circuit.
They are located at the rear of the machine. Take off the metal cover plate, many self tapping screws. There is one device for each heater element, they have push-on connectors and are mounted with two screws each. I am trying to locate them on the web at the moment, might go to my local dealer, they look to be around £20. Mine are ELTH 261 and seem to be marked with T220K and T175K, which might be the temperature at which they fail. Check them with a mutimeter to see if they are still short circuit. As a temporary measure I have shorted them out and the dryer is working OK. DONT LEAVE IT LIKE THAT - NO PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE!!!
Make sure that you give the Tumble dryer a really good clean before fitting the replacements. Mine was really full of fluff inside the cabinet. I aso oiled the rollers on the belt tensioners as the machine was quite noisy
