How to resuscitate a completely flat battery?

My car battery (2 years old) has completely discharged, partly because I don't use this particular car very often, but more likely because I may have left an interior light on.

I have given it a full fifteen minute charge from another car but on turning the switch (the other engine still running) there was not a flicker of power. There seems to be no way of checking whether there is enough water in it.

Is there hope yet for this battery, or should I replace it?

Fifteen minutes won't do diddly squat, you need to connect it to a charger for how long depends on size of charger and size of battery e.g a 40amp hr battery connected to a 5amp hr charger will take 8hours to cgarge (divide the size of the batt by the amp output of the charger),15 mins your at tickover, your having a laugh!

was there no dash lights on with jump leads still connected? there should have been some power from other vehicle. are jump leads any good? you should check where leads are crimped to clamps.also it would be better to put battery on a trickle charge for a day or so and re-check it. also is there a main fuse fitted to one of battery leads that could have blown.
